Success quotes abound on the Internet. But Really, What is True Success

There are treasures of true success quotes found in bible verses. Unfortunately, we live in a society that identifies success only by the accumulation of wealth. In the majority of cases, the harder you work, the more money you earn. In the material world's view, the more you earn, the more success you gain. But really, is this the true definition of success?

Ecclesiastes 4:8 reads, “This is the case of a man who is all alone, without a child or a brother, yet who works hard to gain as much wealth as he can. But then he asks himself, 'Who am I working for? Why am I giving up so much pleasure now? It is all so meaningless and depressing.” This verse makes it crystal clear that if we allow work to dominate our lives, we are headed for disaster. This unbalanced commitment to work will separate us from important personal relationships needed to enjoy a good life.

If you apply the success quotes in Ecclesiastes to modern man or woman, they would possess a nice home, a luxury vehicle and a hefty savings account or investment portfolio. Many of these individuals are aggressive and career-oriented who work day and night and who may not leave their iPhones out of sight in order to gain wealth, power or the desire to become famous. Why do they devote so much time to work? Why are they so passionate about work? The bible depicts them are miserable people. If so, one conclusion is that they aren't truly satisfied with their work.

Maybe another motivating factor is fear. Losing recognition, status or security in the workplace means more to them than maintaining or fostering any personal relationship. Maybe the goal is to store up wealth for future enjoyment. But what if there is no future as a result of a career or life being cut short. Maybe an individual grew up in a poverty-stricken household and now money rules their life. Regardless of the motivation, a person's life can be thrown completely out of balance. Discovering true peace and prosperity is tough. The apostle Paul found his success quotes in Phillipians 4:11-13. The bible quotes read, “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to get along happily whether I have much or little. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need.”

Life has it's seasons of abundance and need, even for those who are Christ-followers. In every situation, the Great One wants to teach us how to be content. The key to contentment is doing everything through the strength provided by Christ.

If you are on a treadmill going nowhere fast or you've lost touch with the priceless gifts of family, close friends, but most importantly, time spent daily with God, you may ask yourself, “What is the true reason why I'm working so hard?” Nothing in life will pay greater dividends than developing and growing a personal relationship with Almighty God. Here are other success quotes taken from bible verses:

Deuteronomy 8:18 "Always remember that it is the Lord your God who gives you power to become rich, and He does it to fulfill the covenant He made with your ancestors."

Deuteronomy 28:1-6 "If you fully obey the Lord your God by keeping all the commands I am giving you today, the Lord your God will exalt you above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God:

  • You will be blessed in your towns and in the country.
  • You will be blessed with many children and productive fields.
  • You will be blessed with fertile herds and flocks.
  • You will be blessed withs baskets overflowing with fruit, and with kneading bowls filled with bread.
  • You will be blessed wherever you go, both in coming and in going."
  • Deuteronomy 29:9 "Therefore, obey the terms of this covenant so that you will prosper in everything you do."

Psalm 1:1-3 "Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with scoffers. But they delight in doing everything the Lord wants; day and night they think about His law. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season without fail. Their leaves never wither, and in all they do, they prosper."

Proverbs 16:3 "Commit your work to the Lord, and then your plans will succeed."

Proverbs 21:21 "Whoever pursues godliness and unfailing love will find life, godliness, and honor."

Proverbs 28:13 "People who cover over their sins will not prosper. But if they confess and forsake them, they will receive mercy."

Encouraging and inspirational success quotes found in bible verses offer you a true road map to abundance and prosperity.
