End Times Prophecy - Is the World As We Know It Drawing to a Close?
If you do an Internet search of "End Times Prophecy", you'll see that more and more claims are being made that we are now in the tribulation period predicted by end times prophets.
At some point we will witness God's judgement upon the earth. Whether this event occurs during our lifetime is up for debate but it seems to be more prominent nowadays.
Regardless of when His judgement occurs, know that we are all destined for salvation and not for wrath.
Here is a list of encouraging bible verses that reference end times prophecy:
1 Thessalonians 5:9 reads, "For God decided to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out His anger on us."
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 reads, "For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with Him forever."
1 Thessalonians 5:2 reads, "For you know quite well that the day of the Lord will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night."
Mark 13:26-27 reads, "Then everyone will see the Son of Man arrive on the clouds with great power and glory. And He will send forth His angels to gather together His chosen ones from all over the world-from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven."
The ordeals, burdens, and hardships experienced by people around the world today are merely the prelude to the great trials yet to come.
Matthew 24:7-8 reads, "The nations and kingdoms will proclaim war against each other, and there will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this will be only the beginning of the horrors to come."
Let me do a quick analogy. Compare the frequency of pain and heartaches of our world to the labor pains of a pregnant woman. From the experiences of my wife and what I've been told by others, the pain typically begins
sporadically and then becomes more frequent and intense.
Jesus warned His followers to expect wars, conflict, natural disasters, persecution and even death as part of end times prophecy.
Luke 21:9 reads, "And when you hear of wars and insurrections, don't panic. Yes, these things must come, but the end won't follow immediately."
These disturbing events are among the signs we are witnessing now. Is our time, in the world as we know it, drawing to an end? No one, except God Himself, knows the exact time or date of our
Judgement Day.
Matthew 24:36 reads, "However, no one knows the day or the hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son Himself. Only the Father knows."
Events are unfolding before our eyes that are in accordance with God's end times prophecy.
Regardless of what's happening in our world, here are three thoughts that may bring a little more peace, joy, comfort, and understanding into our daily living:
Recognize and be aware of these ominous developments
Live by God's rules for the short time we are on this planet
