God works in mysterious ways. Oftentimes we don't understand what He's up to in our christian living. Not until recently did I realize that I was directed to be an ambassador of Christ. It took me a good portion of my life to finally comprehend that christian living is not about me or us -it's all about God. He is our Creator. He put us on this planet to promote Him and His kingdom.
I believe that Divine providence played a major role in the creation of Rich-Christian-Living. Also, it could be the very reason you found this christian website.
Proverbs 16:9 reads, "We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps." This powerful bible verse rests close to my heart.
In 2006, after a successful working career in the banking, insurance and investment industries, my wife and I decided to return to Colorado after spending 12 years in Wisconsin. It was time to be closer to our children and grandchildren. God's spirit was inviting me down another path. He wanted me to take a risk, start my own business and put my trust in Him. He would take care of the rest. This raised the question, “How could I best serve God first, then others, with the time and talents He gave me?”
Over the past few years, God gave me that direction. As a Certified Financial Planner professional (CFP), I organized a financial planning practice, Money Mentors, LLC, published several articles related to christian money management and living from a biblical perspective, developed the Rich Christian Living website, and authored a personal money management e-book entitled, The Financial Facelift-Life's Amazing Road Map to
Abundance and Prosperity.
However, my life has not always been about “abundance and prosperity”. Years ago, my wife, Marilyn, and I endured our share of major life "events", including a home destroyed by fire, job loss, struggles with debt, chronic illness, and
having a son with a life-threatening medical condition. We not only survived but thrived, not through our own efforts but through the grace of God. Attempting to cope with life's challenges separated from Him will create a lot of frustration. The only solution is to totally rely on God for strength and guidance.
